A shared source for product decisions
Model actors, journeys, use cases, rules, terms and requirements as Markdown artifacts. Stable identifiers keep references intact when files move.
The product
ProductShape is a command-line reference implementation for Product Definition as Code. Keep accepted product knowledge in your repository, then connect the work that implements it through stable citations.
Model actors, journeys, use cases, rules, terms and requirements as Markdown artifacts. Stable identifiers keep references intact when files move.
Product Changes propose a future definition. Validate the proposal, review it with people, apply it on a branch, and let a merge accept the new baseline.
Citations bind consumer documents to artifact content. When an artifact changes, verification reports current, stale, tampered or unresolved references.
Product Definition as Code is SDD-agnostic. ProductShape provides integrations for OpenSpec and Spec Kit while keeping the core product model independent.
How it works
Validation is structural. It does not judge product truth. AI can help recover or draft knowledge, but people review the meaning and approve every accepted change. Product truth remains in files under version control.
